On Monday, state and municipal authorities met with members of foreign community in the House of Culture of the city.
 
The meeting began at 10:30 am, and participated in it the Legal Director of the SSP, Commander Alejandro Ríos Covián Silveira, on behalf of the Secretary of Public Security of the State Commander Luis Felipe Saiden Ojeda, the commander Emilio Fernando Zacarias Laines, undersecretary of Citizen Security of SSP; on behalf of the mayor of this city, Lic. Daniel Zacharias Commander Carlos Eduardo Martínez Flores Moo, Director of Public Safety Harbor, citizen Bob Rentz, representative of the American community and C. Meredith Kaytew, representative of the Canadian community.
 
Foreign residents expressed their doubts and dissatisfaction about theft suffered by many in recent weeks, in the same way were targeted by the authorities there present, expressing at the end of the meeting, his appreciation for the surveillance conducted by both corporations and th prompt response to meet, listen and provide solutions.
 
During the meeting the commander Flores Moo, endorsed the Progreso City Hall's commitment to ensure and preserve the security in the port and its suburban districts, continuing the ongoing monitoring in the area in coordination with elements of the Secretary of State Security, offering a close and full cooperation to support foreigners in case of accidents, theft, and other urban needs work.
 
It also held a presentation and delivery of leaflets with basic information for residents, which states what to do and where to call in case of an incident, since this brochure includes various numbers of agencies and institutions.
